BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND STANDING COMMITTEE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
York Region Children's Aid Society is currently seeking individuals to
serve on its Board of Directors and standing committees.
York Region Children's Aid Society is a not-for-profit agency, one of 53
in Ontario funded by the Ontario Government and operating under the
legislative mandate of the Ontario Child and Family Services Act. The
agency is governed by a board of directors made up of people from the
community who have diverse backgrounds and experience but who share a
passion and vision for caring for children. The role of the board of
directors is to oversee the management of the agency and to ensure that
services are delivered in accordance with the legislation and according
to best practices.
Board members are required to attend all regular meetings and the annual
general meeting. Regular meeting are held the last Thursday of each month
from 7:00 - 10:00 PM.
Board members are also required to participate on one or more of the following
standing committees: finance committee, governance committee, policy, advocacy,
diversity and fund development committee, and continuous quality improvement
committee. Committee meetings are typically held monthly.
York Region Children's Aid Society board members must reside or work in York Region.
